Designing a new live/work space in South London
It only takes a few tweaks to make working and living spaces so much more efficient and enjoyable.
Can we create a co-living and co-working space that the public love and which create new opportunities and infrastructure for local people? It’s exactly what we set out to do in Camberwell, London.
Feedback in any job is important. But on a design project, it’s invaluable. After all, it only takes a few tweaks to make working and living spaces so much more efficient and enjoyable. Respublica came to us in the early stages of developing their new scheme.
We looked at all the information collated, then advised:
- Making more effective use of the ground floor to balance the requirements of tenants with those of local residents to enhance brand reputation
- Having separate ground floor access for tenants to provide them with privacy and seclusion from local residents in order to address end-user needs and improve satisfaction ratings
- Developing a strategy to allow for the flexible use of shared space on the upper floors to optimise space usage and increase rental yield
- Providing residents with the opportunity to have input into the way that shared accommodation is managed, through a residents’ committee and a mobile app, in order to improve retention.
